UPLB is a top-performing school in the chem. eng’g board exam

UPLB emerged as one of the two top performing schools in the May 2017 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

UPLB’s 32 passers out of 36 examinees, or  a passing percentage of 88.89%, qualified the University for the said distinction. To be a top performing school in the chemical engineering exam, a school should have 30 or more examinees with at least 80% passing percentage.

The national passing rate is 55.26%, with 310 passers out of 561 takers nationwide.

In November 2015, the Commission on Higher Education identified UPLB’s Department of Chemical Engineering as a Center of Development because of its potential to become a Center of Excellence. (Mark Jayson E. Gloria, with reports from www.prc.gov.ph)
