The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) is holding a seminar that will enhance, enrich and update the teaching skills and methodologies of UPLB faculty members on different types of learners, particularly the “millennials.”
The knowledge sharing activity, called the 1st Honing Innovative Teaching Skills Seminar (HITSS), will take place on Jan. 16-18 at Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas.
Activities during the seminar will include lectures, focus group and panel discussions on experiential learning, technology-based learning, and teaching innovation and creativity.
The speakers and facilitators are education, educational technology and information and communication technology professors and experts from UPLB, UP Diliman, Roosevelt College and SEAMEO-INNOTECH. Recipients of the UPLB Outstanding Teacher Award in the biological, physical, social sciences,and humanities, and directors of OVCAA centers will also lead some of the activities.
HITSS is implemented by OVCAA under the leadership of Dr. Portia G. Lapitan and Prof. Julieta A. Delos Reyes, vice chancellor and assistant to the vice chancellor for academic affairs, respectively. (Mark Jayson E. Gloria)
