1,036 to graduate from UPLB in virtual ceremony

Eight hundred thirteen (813) students taking undergraduate degrees and 172 and 51 students taking their master’s and PhD degrees, respectively, comprise the 1,036 candidates for graduation at the 49th Commencement Exercises of UPLB.

Three hundred five (305) belong to Class 2020, having finished their degrees effective second semester of AY 2019-2020.

Twenty-five (25) of the candidates for undergraduate degrees will graduate with cum laude and three (3) with magna cum laude distinction.

This year’s class valedictorian is Kassel Clarisse Kraft, magna cum laude, under the BS Development Communication program.

Two each under the master’s and doctoral degree levels will be recognized as recipients of academic excellence awards and four each will be recognized as recipients of academic achievement awards among the graduates of master’s and doctoral degrees.

Renowned big business leader in the food industry and outstanding UPLB alumnus Ronald Daniel Mascariñas will be the guest speaker at the virtual commencement program that will be streamed at 9 AM on Aug 7 at UPLB Official Facebook Page and YouTube channel

At 9 AM on Aug. 6, the postgraduate degree candidates will be honored at the UPLB Graduate School (GS) Hooding Ceremony.

The UPLB-GS Hooding Ceremony will have UP Baguio Chancellor Corazon Lumbera-Abansi as the guest speaker.

Like Mascariñas who graduated in BS Agriculture from UPLB, Chancellor Abansi finished her bachelor’s degree in UPLB (BS Agricultural Economics). Dr. Abansi also finished MS and PhD Agricultural Economics at UPLB and a Master of Arts in Economics at UP Diliman.
