LRC-PEER tutors hold tutorials with student orgs, IMSP

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) conducted 12 group tutorial sessions with its resident PEER (Promoting Excellence through Educational Review) tutors, recognized student organizations of the university, and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics (IMSP) to help prepare students for their final examinations for the first semester AY 2022-2023.

This is the first time LRC has resumed face-to-face tutorial sessions since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 704 UPLB students attended the 12 sessions.

The activities are part of the Center’s tutorial program, dubbed TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Learning Sessions, which aims to assist and prepare UPLB students for their examinations and other academic requirements.

Bio 30 tutorials were conducted with The UPLB Genetics Society on Oct. 10 and on Nov. 14. The LRC PEER Tutors conducted the CHEM 18 tutorials on Oct. 12 and on Nov. 17 and the MATH 25 tutorials on Nov. 9.

The UPLB Actuarial Science Society conducted tutorials for MATH 36 on Nov. 11, while the UP Cell Biological Society held BIO 120 tutorials on Nov. 16.

The UP Guild of United Minds-UP Praefects held CHEM 18 tutorials on Dec. 5, while The UPLB Society of Pre-Med Students held CHEM 40 and CHEM 160 tutorials on Dec. 10 and Dec. 15, respectively.

Math 25 and Math 28 tutorials were held by the UP Junior Executive Society on Dec. 6 and by faculty members of IMSP on Dec. 16, respectively.

The Center plans to conduct more sessions during the final examination week in January 2023. (Joshua Michael Jonas)
