SSO unveils 4th “BATINGAW” early warning device

The Security and Safety Office (SSO) launched the 4th UPLB READY BATINGAW at 2:30 PM on August 29, 2024, at the UPLB guard post at the corner of Narra St. and Velasco Avenue.

SSO Director Eric Paul D. Peralta led the launch, which was also attended by UP Alumni Association (UPAA) president and UP Regent Robert Lester F. Aranton and UPAA 3rd Vice President Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr. 

Aranton donated the batingaw to UPLB.

During the event, Aranton emphasized the crucial role of this innovation for the community and advocated its expansion beyond UPLB. He also expressed his willingness to provide further support for the project. 

Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan D. Maliwat, head of the SSO Crisis and Emergency Response Unit and the key innovator of the UPLB READY BATINGAW was recognized for his pivotal role in this innovative project.

In a short talk, Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr. acknowledged the leadership and hard work of the team behind this significant advancement. (Grizelda Penales-Marza)
