SSO welcomes new director

The UPLB Security and Safety Office (SSO) has a new director in Atty. Eric Paul D. Peralta, former director of the Human Relations Development Office and the UPLB Gender Center.

Peralta officially assumed his post on April 1, taking over Dr. Mark Dondi M. Arboleda, a faculty member at the School of Environmental Science and Management, who served as officer-in-charge from June 15, 2022 to March 31, 2023.

Arboleda formally turned over his duties to Peralta at a ceremony held at the Office of the Chancellor in the presence of Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr., Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (VCCA) Roberto P. Cereno, Assistant to the Chancellor Eileen Lorena M. Mamino, and Assistant to the VCCA Benevieve D. Villanueva.

Peralta is an assistant professor at the Department of Human Family Development Studies of the College of Human Ecology, handling subjects in family law and family development policies.

He also does legal consultancy work for development projects and is part of research and extension programs at the University.

The UPLB SSO was created under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs with the approval of the UP Board of Regents (BOR) at its 1355th meeting on Oct. 29, 2020 to administer UPLB’s security and traffic programs. (Roi Mojado)
