UPLB and UPOU team up for MA Nursing clinical internship

UPLB, through its University Health Service (UHS), has collaborated with the UP Open University (UPOU) to offer a clinical internship program for students enrolled in UPOU’s Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) program. The partnership was formalized in a signing ceremony held on August 19, 2024, at UPOU.

UPLB Chancellor Jose Camacho Jr. and UPOU Chancellor Melinda Bandalaria spearheaded the signing event, marking the official launch of this collaborative initiative. Through this program, MAN students will conduct their clinical internship or practicum at UHS, providing them with practical experience in a real-world healthcare setting.

Also in attendance were UPLB Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Roberto Cereno and UHS Director Jessie Imelda Walde.

Dean Joane Serrano of the UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies and MAN Program Chair Ria Valerie Cabanes also witnessed the signing ceremony.

The partnership highlights the continuing efforts of both UPLB and UPOU to provide quality education and training for future leaders in nursing and healthcare in the country. (Ana Vera G. Oleta
