Personnel of the UPLB Office of International Linkages (OIL) participated in the Seminar-Workshop on Protocol, Etiquette, and Social Graces at the Institute for Small Scale Industries (ISSI), Virata Hall in UP Diliman, Quezon City, on August 22 and 27, 2024.
The workshop aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of international standards in professional conduct. With increasing global interactions, mastering proper protocol and etiquette is essential for effective engagements with foreign dignitaries and officials.
The UP System Office of International Linkages (UP OIL) organized the event in collaboration with the Foreign Service Institute’s Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy.
Attendees represented various offices across the UP System, underscoring a common commitment to enhancing professionalism in international relations. Among the participating offices were the Office of the President, the Office of the Secretary of the University, and the Office of International Linkages (OIL) of UP Diliman, UP Manila, and UPLB.
The event featured sessions on image enhancement, flag protocol, and the role of protocol in institutional and ceremonial events.
Participants applied the knowledge they gained through practical exercises and role-playing activities, preparing them to navigate international interactions with confidence and professionalism. (Maria Dominique C. Velasco)
