UPLB signs academic and research partnerships with Taiwanese unis

The Executive Committee (Execom), composed of the chancellor, vice chancellors, deans, and a director, visited the cities of Kaohsiung and Taipei, Taiwan on May 17-19 to sign partnership agreements with two universities and to visit other academic and research institutions.

The university, represented by Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr.,  signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to pursue academic, educational, and research cooperation with Kaohsiung Medical University College of Life Science (KMU-CLS).  KMU-CLS was represented by its dean, Chang Hsueh Wei.

UPLB also formalized a similar cooperation agreement with the National Taiwan University College of Bioresources and Agriculture (NTU-CBA). NTU-CBA was represented by Dean Huu-Sheng Lur.

This was an offshoot of a visit of delegates from NTU to UPLB in January 2023 wherein the two parties held initial discussions on the possible joint offering of dual degree programs.

The UPLB delegation also made a courtesy visit to the Kaohsiung City Government’s Department of Health and to the Academia Sinica. (Ana Vera G. Oleta)
