PRC accredits TREES as CPD provider

The Professional Regulation Commission through its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council for Forestry has approved the application of the Training Center for Tropical Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability or TREES, College of Forestry and Natural Resources as CPD Provider. The first training institution to be accredited by the said council, TREES is now authorized to organize and conduct CPD courses for forestry professionals.

The completion of CPD units as mandatory requirement for the renewal of professional license is mandated by Republic Act 10912 or the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016 which aims to promote and upgrade the practice of professions in the country to be at par with international competency standards.  According to TREES Director Roberto P. Cereno, foresters renewing their three-year license by July 2018 are required to complete 15 credit units, those renewing by July 2019, 30 units and those by July 2020, 45 units. Interested foresters may contact TREES by telefax numbers +63 49 536 2736 or email at [email protected]  for more information.  (TREES press release)
