Classes ’59 & ‘69 to build Baker-Social Garden foot bridge

A hanging foot bridge will soon connect two heritage structures in UPLB: Baker Hall and the Seniors’ Social Garden, courtesy of Classes 1959 and 1969, who are both 2019 jubilarians.

During the 2019 UPLB Grand Alumni Homecoming Business Meeting on Oct. 9, Dr. Celso Mendoza representing UPLB Class 1959 and Pablito Villegas representing UPLB Class 1969, presented the joint adopted project.

The proposed hanging footbridge to connect the two banks of Molawin Creek is estimated to cost between PHP5-6M. During the business meeting, several alumni pledged to donate funds for the bridge.

The business meeting was part of UPLB’s 101st Loyalty Day Celebration and Grand Alumni Homecoming.

Present during the event were UPLB officials led by Chancellor Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr.; UPLB Alumni Association officers led by For. Leo R. Ballesfin, president; and this year’s jubilarians, and other UPLB alumni. (Albert Geoffred B. Peralta)
