UPLB is 1st placer in LET-Secondary

The performance of UPLB graduates who took the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET)-Secondary Level catapulted the university into the number one school for this year’s edition of the said examination.

With a passing rate of 98% (49 passers out of 50 examinees), UPLB ranked first among 2,087 educational institutions that had graduates taking the examination.

For this edition, the Professional Regulation Commission, which administered the exam, determined that the top performing schools are those that gained at least 85% passing rate from its 50 or more examinees.

The national passing rate for LET-Secondary Level is 39.69%, with 54,179 passers out of 136,523 examinees. The exam was administered not only in the Philippines, but also in testing centers in Hong Kong and Thailand.

Held alongside the LET-Secondary Level is the counterpart exam for Elementary Level.

UPLB’s teacher education program is the BS Mathematics and Science Teaching, with majors in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.  (Mark Jayson E. Gloria, with information from www.prc.gov.ph)
