UPLB Bee Program to conduct webinar on honey bees and mites

To celebrate World Bee Day, the UPLB Bee Program will hold a webinar entitled “Genetic investigations of honey bee-mite interactions in a diversity hotspot” on May 27 at 4 PM via Zoom.

The webinar resource person is Dr. Alexis Louis Beaurepaire of the Institute of Bee Health at the University of Bern in Switzerland.

Jessica Baroga-Barbecho, a researcher at the UPLB Bee Program, will also be presenting her past and current projects on how honey bee ectoparasitic mites Varroa sp., interact with their native hosts and with introduced Western honey bees. (Kyle Ramiel Dalangin)
