UPLB signs MOU with Honda Philippines and Fuji-Haya

UPLB signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with Honda Philippines Inc. and Fuji-Haya Electric Corporation of the Philippines on Oct. 14 at the Office of the Chancellor.

Chancellor Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr. signed separate MOUs with the two companies, with Assistant Vice-President for Business Management Ma. Beth S. Alejandro representing Honda Philippines Inc. and General Manager Roberto F. Anonas Jr. representing Fuji-Haya.

Under the MOU, the parties agreed to develop collaborative activities on the basis of equality and reciprocity such as on-the-job training/practicum/internship for students, job placement, joint research programs, consultancy/technical advice, training programs and seminars, involvement in the design of CEAT curriculum, adopt-a-room laboratory, adopt-a-student/scholarship programs, adopt CEAT technology, and other activities deemed appropriate by both parties.

The agreements are effective on the date of MOU signing and shall continue for a period of three years.

Present during the signing ceremony were Dr. Arnold R. Elepaño and Dr. Myra G. Borines, dean and associate dean of CEAT, respectively; and staff of Honda and Fuji-Haya. (Mary Jane F. Gallardo)
