Campus safety emergency protocols at CAS-IMSP

The Security and Safety Office (SSO) conducted a two-hour lecture on campus emergency protocols and basic fire safety for the staff of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics (IMSP) under the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) on Feb. 2, 2024.

The lecture was led by Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan D. Maliwat and his team, namely SOII Grizelda Marza, Special Police Lieutenant (SPLT) Kristine Matalog, and SPLT Pamela Arquiza.

Maliwat delivered the first lecture on emergency preparedness. He covered topics on campus security, safety issues, and the basic incident command system.

Marza, Matalog, and Arquiza discussed campus fire safety in relation to operating fire hydrants, understanding fire protection systems, and conducting fire exit drills.

During the program, Dr. Editha Carreon-Jose, director of IMSP, expressed her appreciation and commendation to SSO and to all the participants.
