HRDO leads orientation on eHOPE

The UPLB Human Resources Development Office (HRDO) held a webinar on the UP Enhanced Hospitalization Programme (eHOPE) No Cash-Out Policy on June 27. Over 250 UPLB staff members attended the activity.

The webinar aimed to shed light on the eHOPE policy and discussed how UPLB employees could avail of its benefits. The No Cash-Out Policy allows UPLB personnel to be admitted to a hospital without shelling out cash payments.

Atty. Eric Paul D. Peralta, director of HRDO, said that UPLB personnel should take advantage of this privilege and encouraged them to use eHOPE to address their health needs.

In his message, Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. announced that UPLB has successfully sealed partnerships with seven hospitals in Laguna and Batangas to implement the eHOPE No Cash-Out Policy. He also expressed his utmost support for the program.

Mary Rose M. Luna, administrative assistant at HRDO, served as the webinar’s resource speaker. She explained that upon an employee’s discharge, eHOPE provides yearly financial help for the hospitalization costs spent during the confinement and for medications relevant to the covered confinement period. eHOPE covers up to PhP 80,000 for hospitalization costs and PhP 10,000 for take-home medications connected to confinement every year.

Luna also discussed who can qualify for the program and the treatments, medications, and other medical costs covered by eHOPE. Additionally, she went through the requirements for processing the no cash-out policy and the eHOPE reimbursement.

The audience members had the chance to ask questions following the orientation. The queries raised in the forum were addressed by Atty. Peralta, Luna, and Ricardo Amiel V. Reveche, supervising administrative officer.

Vice-Chancellor for Administration Rolando T. Bello was also present at the webinar.

A recorded copy of the webinar may be accessed on the official HRDO Facebook page. (Aurney Shayne B. Atienza)
