SSO conducts 2nd rank inspection and 2nd BATINGAW launching

The UPLB Security and Safety Office (SSO) of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs conducted an officer and rank inspection of all SSO personnel, including outsourced security agencies, on May 04, 2024, under the leadership of lawyer Eric Paul D. Peralta, director of SSO. 

The meticulous inspection aims to ensure discipline and orderliness and instill a culture of accountability and a strong sense of responsibility within the ranks.

Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr. and Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Roberto P. Cereno also attended the activity. 

One of the highlights during the inspection was the awarding ceremony where the SSO recognized each awardee’s extraordinary acts and exhibits of proficiency, competency, and distinction.

Vice Chancellor Cereno commended the efforts of all SSO personnel and expressed his gratitude to all present during the activity. Meanwhile, Chancellor Camacho commended Atty. Peralta for his leadership during his one-year stint as director of SSO. He also congratulates all the awardees.

In addition, SSO unveiled its second UPLB READY BATINGAW or Risk Emergency and Disaster readY-Babala at Abiso para sa Tiyak na kaliGtasan ng bAWat isa ; Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan D. Maliwat gave a backgrounder on the rationale behind BATINGAW; he highlighted the importance of an early warning device as a proactive safety measure in safeguarding the UPLB community. The Peralta Law Office donated the 2nd BATINGAW. 

In closing, attendees then had the opportunity to participate in a photo session, capturing the spirit of unity and dedication toward a safer and more resilient UPLB. (Alva Marie H. Tirones)
