The Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning’s application as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider was approved by the CPD Council of Environmental Planning of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on May 3, 2023. 

With this milestone, as one of the few academic units in the Philippines offering planning courses, DCERP can continue to actively pursue its goal of uplifting the profession of environmental planning in the country by providing programs that can be applied and accredited for CPD credit units.

Among the proposed CPD programs of DCERP are trainings and workshops on planning-related topics such as the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Zoning Ordinance (CLUP-ZO) Implementation, Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment-Geographic Information System (CDRA-GIS), Basic GIS, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) preparation. 

Other proposed CPD programs are the International Conference on Human Settlements Planning and Development (ICHSPD) and seminars such as the PRAXIS and DCERP Conversations.
