UPLB TTBDO wins best session speakers at the 5th IDIPIRC

Representatives from the UPLB Technology Transfer and Business and Development Office (TTBDO) won best session speakers during the 5th IPOPHL-DLSU Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Conference (IDIPIRC) held at The Verdure, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University-Manila on 5 April 2024.

Cathrene P. Amante and Rainielle Kyle M. Guison were awarded best session speakers for the session on Innovation, Technology, and IP in a Knowledge-Based Economy. They presented an extended abstract titled “Tùbo sa Tubò: Nutrio®’s Impact on the Philippine Sugarcane Industry and Economic Growth.”

Three other studies were also presented by researchers from other academic institutions.

TTBDO also submitted another extended abstract titled “Recommendations for Future Intellectual Property (IP) Education Programs: Lessons from Four (4) IP Awareness Activities in the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).” 

This was presented by Director Emil John C. Cabrera during the session on Innovation, Technology, and IP for Bridging Inequalities.

The 5th IDIPIRC, with the theme “Catalyst for Change: Innovation and Intellectual Property for the Advancement of SDGs,” showcased papers on topics that discuss contemporary issues in IP and emerging technologies.

The annual research conference aims to provide a venue for experts, researchers, and enthusiasts of IP and Innovation to engage in intellectual discourse in their respective fields.
